Summer Program

If you're a part of the Akkas & Associates Law Firm summer program, you'll have more than one opportunity to experience hospitality and judge social compatibility.

Akkas & Associates Law Firm has designed a program to enable a summer clerk to experience and accomplish two things: give you the involvement you need with the partners that can jumpstart your career and provide you with a concentrated exposure to one or two practice areas allowing you to demonstrate your legal skills and competencies. You'll have quality time doing real work with the attorneys at Akkas & Associates Law Firm.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
In the office, the summer associates are provided with the greatest exposure possible to the firm's practice. The firm makes an affirmative effort to expose clerks to the variety of projects that lawyers actually do in the course of their practices. A summer associate who expresses an interest in real estate, banking or energy law, for example, may participate in drafting documents necessary to various phases of a transaction and, when possible, will attend and participate in client meetings and closings. Similarly, the corporate section of the firm provides summer associates with an opportunity to participate in a broad spectrum of activities ranging from attending negotiations to drafting documents relating to public and private offerings of securities. Those who express an interest in litigation can anticipate exposure to the courtroom as well as attendance at depositions and participation in other facets of trial and appellate practice.

Paralegals

Behind every successful law firm is a strong team of legal professionals, and Akkas & Associates Law Firm recognizes the true value of its professional paralegals. Akkas & Associates Law Firm paralegals are a critical part of the reason our lawyers are able to consistently serve clients in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Akkas & Associates Law Firm paralegals are hired for specific positions within a section supporting a team of transactional or litigation attorneys.

Our paralegals are rewarded with competitive salaries and excellent benefits packages. Formal six-month and year-end evaluations are conducted. Merit performance and salary reviews are conducted annually. Annual bonuses are awarded based on performance.

Paralegals at Akkas & Associates Law Firm are offered regular free in-house Continuing Legal Education programs and are encouraged to participate in professional associations. Dues for approved state and local associations are paid for by the firm.

Akkas & Associates Law Firm also provides a retreat for the paralegals every other year. This retreat includes Continuing Legal Education programs as well as social events.
